Ayodhya ruling: Hindus win case over site disputed by Muslims
Supreme court decides fates of holy site where mosque was torn down by Hindu hardliners in 1992
India’s supreme court has ruled on the disputed religious site of Ayodhya – deciding the case in favour of Hindus, with alternate land to be provided for Muslims.
The supreme court ruled on Saturday that 2ha (five acres) of land will be allotted to the Muslim community in the northern Indian town of Ayodhya. The disputed land will be given to a board of trustees for the construction of a temple for Hindu god Ram.
