Ahn Gwi-ryeong, the spokesperson for the main opposition party in South Korea, was filmed confronting a soldier and grabbing his rifle outside the country’s parliament on Tuesday, after the president unexpectedly declared a state of martial law.
The incident has been shared widely online, seen as a symbol of defiance against the president. One version of the video on YouTube had been viewed more than 1.2m times as of Thursday evening
