The South Korean politician is stabbed in the neck while talking to reporters in the port city of Busan. Footage shows Lee Jae-myung walking in a crowd of journalists when a man in front of him lunges and strikes him with what ‘looked like a knife’, according to a witness speaking to local broadcaster YTN.
Police in Busan say the opposition leader suffered a ‘one-centimetre laceration on his neck’ and that he ‘remains conscious and bleeding is minor’, according to South Korean news outlet Chosun Ilbo. The assailant has been arrested, Yonhap news agency says
