Hundreds of protesters were detained after heated demonstrations swept across Indonesia on Wednesday in response to a law that weakens environmental protections and workers’ rights.
Labour unions have vowed to continue their protests until the government cancels the bill, despite a police warning that demonstrations are violating measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
