The British overseas national says he is ‘grateful for the courage shown by the UK’ in approving application
The UK has granted asylum to Simon Cheng, a former Hong Kong consulate worker who alleged he was tortured in China and accused of inciting political unrest in the city.
Cheng, a British overseas national, said on Wednesday evening his application for asylum had been approved on 26 June by the UK government.
