Thailand\u2019<\/a>s prime minister, Paetongtarn Shinawatra<\/a>, apologised after a leaked phone conversation with former Cambodian leader Hun Sen prompted public anger and threatened the collapse of her government.<\/p>\n

In the leaked call, Paetongtarn \u2013 daughter of the populist former leader Thaksin Shinawatra \u2013 discusses an ongoing border dispute<\/a> with Hun Sen, who is known to be a friend of her family. <\/p>\n

In the recording, she can be heard criticising a senior Thai military commander who she said \u201cjust wanted to look tough\u201d, describing him as an opponent. Addressing Hun Sen as \u201cuncle\u201d, she adds that if there were anything he wanted to \u201cjust let me know, I\u2019ll take care of it\u201d.<\/p>\n
