Trump is returning them to the refugee camps"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>They lost their Nepalese citizenship years ago and are now living in a \u2018stateless limbo\u2019 amid Trump\u2019s deportations<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/2025\/apr\/21\/bhutan-nepal-us-immigration\">Aasis Subedi<\/a>, a Bhutanese Nepali refugee, finds himself back in the same Nepal refugee camp he spent part of his youth, once again stateless.<\/p>\n<p>Last month,<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/2025\/apr\/21\/bhutan-nepal-us-immigration\"> Subedi<\/a> and two dozen community members from across the US were <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/2025\/apr\/21\/bhutan-nepal-us-immigration\">deported by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (Ice) officers to Bhutan<\/a>, the tiny Himalayan country where they had never previously set foot.
