What became known as Occupy Central, or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/2014\/sep\/29\/hong-kong-democracy-protests-china-umbrellas-police\">the Umbrella protests<\/a>, paralysed the city\u2019s financial centre and galvanised a generation of young people.<\/p>\n<p>Today Hong Kong\u2019s streets are quiet.
