In 2020, Boeng Thom Angkep, a finger-shaped lake tucked below the forested hills of Ream national park on Cambodia\u2019s south-western coast, was <a href=\"https:\/\/vodenglish.news\/after-lake-gifted-to-powerful-couple-current-residents-face-upheaval\/\">granted to an elite family<\/a> to develop.<\/p>\n<p>After nearly two decades of peaceful existence, hundreds of lakeshore residents now face eviction.
