Biden was apparently referring to Pakistan\u2019s combination of nuclear weapons and apparent instability. He might have been talking about the threat faced by the country\u2019s own politicians instead.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, the former prime minister Imran Khan <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/2022\/nov\/03\/imran-khan-shot-in-assassination-attempt-in-pakistan\">was shot<\/a> when his anti-government <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/asia-pacific\/pakistan-ex-pm-khan-announces-march-capital-call-early-elections-2022-10-25\/\">protest convoy<\/a> came under attack in the east of the country, in what his aides said was a clear assassination attempt.
