When he heard the announcement this month that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/2022\/aug\/21\/singapore-to-repeal-law-that-criminalises-sex-between-men\">law would finally be repealed<\/a>, he felt relief. \u201cI thought I would die before I could hear this,\u201d he says. He thanks god, and the universe, that he is alive to witness such a landmark moment.<\/p>\n<p>It was in 2010 that Tan Eng Hong experienced one of the most difficult episodes in his life.
