On Saturday, western journalists left the virtual press conference without satisfying answers. Some complained Bachelet had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/2022\/may\/28\/un-urges-china-to-review-counter-terrorism-policies-after-official-visit\">dwelled too much on the US\u2019s human rights problems but not China\u2019s<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Knowing a top envoy from the UN would be restrained in her tone and delivery, Beijing took the occasion to say Bachelet\u2019s trip was an opportunity \u201cto observe and experience first-hand the real Xinjiang\u201d.
