But the pain of leaving behind her mother, and the career she loved, is with her every day<\/p>\n<p>In a picturesque Bavarian town, Nargis Orakzai is recalling the long hours she spent at the Afghan finance ministry before she fled the country last year and resettled in Germany.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would go to the office from 7am and often worked late. Then I would go to the university where I was pursuing a master\u2019s in business administration,\u201d the 30-year-old recalls.
