The hospital drama was \u201cthe height of television drama when I was a young person,\u201d the prime minister, Jacinda Ardern, said in 2019. \u201cIt\u2019s always done the job of tracking big things happening in New Zealand society as well, and reflecting back to ourselves.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It has launched the careers of some of the country\u2019s biggest stars: Temuera Morrison, Martin Henderson, Rose McIvor, KJ Apa, Karl Urban, to name a few.
