Now we must seize this one last chance<\/p>\n<p>Like many others, I would like to have seen a stronger outcome from Cop26. But we shouldn\u2019t lose sight of the fact that much was achieved \u2013 and the final outcome does get us much closer to where we need to be than where we were a few weeks ago.<\/p>\n<p>For the first time countries <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/environment\/2021\/nov\/13\/cop26-countries-agree-to-accept-imperfect-climate-agreement\">agreed to take action on fossil fuels<\/a>. Yes, it could have gone further \u2013 but let\u2019s not forget that never before has there been a single word uttered on fossil fuels in any Cop agreement.
