In 2018, his bones were found preserved in the permafrost, surrounded by exquisite ornaments and weapons: beautifully observed figures of deer, finely crafted holders for his bow and arrows and dagger, myriad tiny beads \u2013 \u201cand everywhere\u201d, as Howard Carter said of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/artanddesign\/2019\/nov\/01\/tutankhamun-saatchi-gallery-london-archaeology-pharaoh\">Tutankhamun\u2019s tomb<\/a>, \u201cthe glitter of gold\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Great archaeological discoveries don\u2019t have to be full of gold, but it helps. That warm yellow metal catches your eye almost wherever you look in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fitzmuseum.cam.ac.uk\/visit-us\/exhibitions\/gold-of-the-great-steppe\">Fitzwilliam<\/a>\u2019s stunning snapshot of archaeology in action.
