Probably worth pointing out, though, that while your article is correct in saying that same-sex marriage is not legal in either Russia or China, (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/sport\/2021\/jul\/26\/tom-daley-overwhelmed-after-winning-olympic-gold-with-matty-lee-diving\" title=\"\">Tom Daley \u2018incredibly proud to say I am gay and an Olympic champion\u2019<\/a>, 26 July) the same state of affairs is sadly true in the host country, Japan.<br \/><strong>Graham Courtney<\/strong><br \/><em>Tokyo, Japan<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 I have long expressed to the younger members of my family that the Guardian represents a bedrock of literary correctness. So you must appreciate my mortification at reading \u201cmore trains, less planes\u201d in your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/commentisfree\/2021\/jul\/25\/the-guardian-view-on-restoring-the-golden-age-of-rail-green-glamour\" title=\"\">second leader<\/a> (25 July).
