Thankfully no one died here, though it <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/2012\/dec\/04\/philippines-typhoon-people-evacuate-homes\">did lead to deaths in the Philippines<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The impact on Palau of Typhoon Surigae didn\u2019t make headlines overseas and this might be the first you will have heard of it. Compared to other natural disasters and other cyclones or typhoons in the Pacific, it was a relatively \u201cgood\u201d one.
