Letter by Islamist militant Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh tells of involvement in US journalist\u2019s 2002 death<\/p>\n

After 18 years of denial the British-born militant who was convicted and later acquitted of the beheading of the American journalist Daniel Pearl<\/a> has told a court he played a \u201cminor\u201d role in the killing, according to the Pearl family lawyer.<\/p>\n

A letter handwritten by Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh, in 2019, in which he admitted limited involvement in the killing of the Wall Street Journal reporter, was submitted to Pakistan\u2019s supreme court nearly two weeks ago. On Wednesday lawyers for Sheikh confirmed that their client had written the letter.<\/p>\n
