The tactic appears to be paying off<\/p>\n<p>Last week, the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theweek.in\/news\/world\/2020\/02\/16\/who-is-rishi-sunak-the-finance-minister-in-uk-most-indian-cabinet.html\" title=\"\">most Indian cabinet<\/a>\u201d in British history realised a long-standing dream of the Tory right: the introduction of a purposely cruel <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/commentisfree\/2020\/feb\/19\/boris-johnson-immigration-reforms-home-office-skilled-migration\" title=\"\">\u201cpoints-based\u201d immigration system<\/a>. Finally, as many were quick to point out, we saw the limits of \u201crepresentation politics\u201d laid bare \u2013 the home secretary, Priti Patel, and the three other British Indians appointed to Johnson\u2019s cabinet will only embolden Tory racism.
