The police came under heavy criticism for their botched handling of the case, notably <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehindu.com\/news\/cities\/Hyderabad\/3-policemen-suspended-for-fir-delay-in-vet-case\/article30126242.ece\" title=\"\">the time it took<\/a> to start investigating \u2013 time that the family says could have been used to save her.<\/p>\n<p>Four men were arrested as suspects, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/2019\/dec\/06\/indian-police-shoot-dead-four-men-suspected-of-hyderabad\" title=\"\">were shot dead<\/a> as they allegedly snatched weapons from the police during a reconstruction at the crime scene.
